What you pay for a new car battery
Most everyday cars — without stop-start technology — take a standard flooded battery. The price depends mainly on physical size and cold cranking amps (CCA): a small hatchback needs less power than a large SUV, so it costs less. The fitted price is all-inclusive — there's no separate charge for fitting, testing or the warranty.
Popular makes: Nissan, Holden, Toyota, Ford, Mazda, Hyundai and Honda mostly use standard batteries in this range. Call with your rego and we'll confirm the exact battery and price for your car.
Standard vs stop-start — which do you need?
If your car switches the engine off at the lights, it has stop-start and needs an EFB or AGM battery instead — see stop-start battery cost or AGM battery cost. If you're not sure, we'll identify the correct type from your rego, or check it for free with a battery test.
